G.A. Bove Fuels is looking for an experienced diesel truck mechanic to help maintain our fleet of trucks in Mechanicville, NY.

Requirements:

• Experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel trucks including engine, drive line, suspension, and electrical problems.
• Post-secondary vocational education strongly preferred.
• Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as well as some mandatory overtime and to help cover on call responsibilities.
• Team oriented and able to communicate in a positive manner.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment preferred.
• Willingness to obtain a Class A CDL.
• Must have own tools.

Responsibilities:

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including:
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable.
• Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Works unsupervised on most tasks.
• Performs facility maintenance duties.

TOP PAY FOR EXPERIENCE

• We are willing to pay upwards of $40.00 an hour with full benefits to experienced qualified technicians.
• We provide service vehicles stocked with every tool you could possibly need to perform your job. If the truck doesn’t have what you need just ask and we will supply it.
• We offer a better on-call rotation than just about any other company out there. On call can be rough, but we make the absolute best of a bad situation.

Experience/Knowledge:

• Oil fired systems
• Propane gas systems
• Natural gas systems
• Central air conditioning units
• Repair of propane appliances
• We want good troubleshooters (diagnostics are just as fundamental as mechanical ability). Don’t just change a part, know why it failed.
• Must be available for rotating on-call shifts as needed and available some nights and weekends depending on weather and workload.
• Somewhat clean driving record (no one’s perfect).
• Pride in your work and in yourself. What does that mean? Leave a customer’s home as neat and clean as you found it. Keep your tools accounted for and your truck clean. Look professional and wear your uniform. Don’t leave a service call knowing someone will have to go back and fix your mistake. We expect you to do the right thing, and work to the best of your abilities.
• Be polite and courteous to our customers (We have worked 90 years to grow our customer base to what it is today).
• Be confident in yourself and your abilities. If you say you can do something, we expect you to follow through.
• Show up and get the work done. Do not be unreliable.

G.A. Bove Fuels is looking for a propane tank & equipment installer.

• Must be CETP or Gas Check Certified.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Must have Hazmat endorsement.
• Must meet all DOT requirements including road test, physical, and drug screen.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull heavy objects (greater than 50lbs.)
• Ability to work outside in varying weather/driving conditions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends and holidays.
